The pizza here is one a kind, deliciousness packed with explosively flavors , so simple yet so magical . The service is quick and friendly, the ambiance is that of a quiet and yet vibrant Brooklyn neighborhood. I love this place .
I finally tried the famous Di Fara Pizza and now understand why it is ranked among the best. They serve the most thin and crispy slice with almost no flop. They top it with a sauce that perfectly balances salty and savory, pleasing your taste buds with every bite. I am not sure how they get the perfect amount of cheese on there, but the cheese did not dominate the slice yet it complimented the sauce and crust so well. I like the fact that everything they serve comes out of the oven fresh right in front of you. Also, there are not that many toppings or other types of slices to choose from, so it eliminates a lot of decision making. Though the pizza is amazing, the restaurant is a hole in the wall on a busy Brooklyn street. They have minimal seating on small folding chairs and tables; something you'd expect to see in one of those dollar slice places. It is also difficult to get to the restaurant, especially if you do not live nearby. You can either take the Q train or drive in some of the most narrow and busy streets to get here. The staff is very friendly and do their best to get your pizza out quick but there can be days where you have to wait in line or wait over an hour to get your pizza, but hey it's really some of the best in the world. 5/5 stars!
All the hype drove up my expectations. Ordered in advance thinking there would be a massive line especially during Father's Day. Ordered 2 slices (cheese and square). 50 min wait. Arrived with no line but the slices were piping hot. Cheese slice had good flavor and bite. $6 is a bit steep for a plain cheese slice though. Square slice was mid for $8. Tomato sauce was good. The dough was a tad thicker and soggy.
The wait time was worth it for the pizza. The service was average but WOW was the pizza amazing. Highly recommended. Eat here
Now THIS is what you call a good slice. I always see Di Fara come up when talking best slices in NYC and it did not disappoint. The place looks like it's been there forever, which is pretty much has lol. We were waiting for a plain slice but it was still in the over so we got two pepperoni slices for the same price (who am I to complain about free pepperoni?!). The slice was perfect, the dough was SO SO good, the pepperoni delicious. They sprinkle what looks like pecorino Romano and fresh basil on the pizza. 10/10. Definitely one of the best in NYC and worth the trip.
This is about as good as pizza is gona get. Thin and crispy, get a crunch with each bite. The ratio of cheese, sauce and dough are perfectly balance like a pizza should be. The crust has even more crunch. The flavor of the sauce is so amazing, a slightly sweet and good tang to it. I love when pizza spots put 2 cheeses, mozzarella and parmesan together. Gives it so much more flavor. And to finish it off you get shredded basil. I got the cheese and my friend got pepperoni. He loved his as well. The shop is small, not really much room to eat inside so we ate outside which was cool with me. Nice area. Friendly staff. Busy because it's so popular. An absolute must try when you come to New York.
Really interesting pizza! Very saucy. Super crunchy crust. Maybe the crunchiest crust I've ever had. $5 for a slice which is a bit steep compared to some other places. Would recommend, but definitely different than what I expected! Some tables to sit at inside. Nice lady working at the front.
